Pregnancy: 29 Weeks

How far along? 29 Weeks and in the LAST trimester!

What has been going on this week? Just got home from our  29 week appointment which went pretty well. It has been pretty hot this week so Scarlet and I have gone to friends' pools a couple times this week, played at an indoor park and I have been getting a lot of housework done.

Baby size:  according to my app the baby is the size of a Hawaiian pineapple...about 16 inches long and weighing in at 2.9 lbs

Movement?: Yes! some days more than others but almost always in the evening and when I am laying down at night. Some times she gets me a little worried when I can't feel her for awhile but then she will kick me and my mind is at ease :) I love every little hiccup, kick, and roll!

Food Cravings/Aversions?: Still not able to stand the thought of Chinese food...really haven't had any strong cravings throughout the whole pregnancy....not sure why. I guess I crave fruit and cereal but I have craved those a lot even when not pregnant.

Nausea or sickness?: unfortunately I got food poisoning last Friday night after eating a chicken kabob sandwich at a middle eastern festival....not fun at all. couldn't keep anything down and got nervous, finally at 2 am Tim called the hospital and they wanted me to come in just to be safe and get some fluids. I got hooked up to a baby monitor and they noticed I was having consistent contractions. that was scary. After the doctor checking some things out, getting an IV and calming down a little bit the contractions stopped and I was able to stop throwing up and able to go home. phew, that was a long night but we are so thankful everything is ok.

Best moment of the week?: seeing baby girl on an ultrasound a couple of days ago...she is breech as of now and we weren't able to get great 3-D pictures but got a few and as far as I can tell she is so stinkin cute :) hoping she flips to head down very soon...

Tim and I took a little 3 night trip to Vegas last week. It was very hot there but we pretty much hung out by the pool and did a lot of napping, reading and just being together with no phones which was amazing :) Love spending quality time with that husband of mine.

Yesterday I picked up some decorations for the nursery from Hobby Lobby and got them hung up. The nursery is almost done! Tim surprised me by putting up the crib a few weeks ago when I was gone for the day at friends' showers. :)

...also passed my glucose test at 27 weeks

Workouts?: Still going for long walks a few days per week as well as some lights weights and lunges, stair steps, etc...however, it is getting a lot more uncomfortable and I find myself short of breath very easily.

Gender: GIRL!

Sleep:  off and on...this week hasn't been the best for sleeping, just can't get comfortable and just can't seem to fall asleep or stay asleep. But its all worth it!!

What I am looking forward to?: Our next baby class at the hospital! We took All about Babies a couple weeks ago which was good and next we have Childbirth prep and then breastfeeding. I am looking forward to everything, especially meeting this sweet baby in 10-11 more weeks :)

Prayer for baby girl:
Dear Lord, I praise you that we have already made it to the 29th week of pregnancy. Please give me patience and strength as I endure various pregnancy discomforts, because I know that it is all worth it. Please continue to help our baby grow strong and healthy in every way, and continue to help me take the time to eat healthy and exercise. Continue to bless our marriage and prepare us to be the best parents we can be to this little girl. Thank you for this amazing gift. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. - Psalm 37:7

Pregnancy: 22 Weeks

How far along? 22 Weeks

What has been going on this week? This week is the last week of school for this teacher :) I am so excited to have June, July and most of August off! Other than that, it is a pretty low key week and I am feeling great!

Baby size:  according to my app the baby is the size of a spaghetti squash, weighing in at 1 pound now!

Maternity Clothes: Yes, definitely...Pink blush maternity, H&M maternity, target and old navy maternity have been my go tos so far. Maternity pants are so comfy and at this point there is no way I can fit in regular jeans. I have a feeling I will be living in leggings, big tees and maxi dresses all summer :)

Stretch marks?: Nope, not yet anyway. I have been using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter every day...hopefully it helps

Movement?: A little bit, however, at our 20 week ultrasound we found out I have an anterior placenta which acts as a little pillow between me and the baby, so it might take a few more weeks until I can start to feel stronger movements and kicks. At first I was bummed about this because some days I can't feel movement at all, but Tim reminded me that God is in control and maybe he placed my placenta there to help me grow in my faith and trust in Him, trusting that the baby is healthy and moving around even when I can't feel her.

Food Cravings/Aversions?: I still cannot stand the smell, taste or thought of Chinese food. BLAH. Other than that I don't really have strong cravings. I eat a lot of cereal, cheese and mustard sandwiches (weird I know), and fresh fruit.

Nausea or sickness?: Not any more, the second trimester has been great, Praise God! I do still get very bad headaches a few days every week which are not fun...but trying to drink plenty of water and eat enough.

Best moment of the week?: Well not technically this week, but a couple weeks ago we had our 20 week ultrasound appointment and it was so fun to get to see our little one moving around in there. We were told she is as healthy as can be and we also got confirmation that she is a GIRL! We are so excited and already so in love with her. Let's just say Tim has to stop me from going girl clothes shopping crazy and I may have already bought her about 9 headband/bows :)

Workouts?: 3-4 days a week I have been trying to do a few workouts with light weights...my go to workout lately has been 30-45 minute power walks around our neighborhood. I am planning on walking 30-40 minutes a day 5 days a week all summer long. My doctor gave me to OK to run, however it is not super comfortable so I am sticking to walking.

Gender: GIRL! She has a name too! I will share that soon :)

Sleep: I have been sleeping really well, no complaints there. I do still wake up to pee 1-2 times in the night. I have always slept on my side, so it wasn't a big adjustment for me. I have to sleep with a pillow between my legs though to stay comfortable. It is getting a little harder to roll from side to side and I joke with Tim that he will have to help roll me out of bed soon.

What I am looking forward to?: Our next appointment in 2 weeks! and our BABYMOON vacation that Tim and I have planned. A 5 day getaway in mid-July!

OUR SWEET PEANUT

Prayer for baby girl:
Dear Lord, You are amazing, You are our redeemer, our healer and you are faithful to our hearts! I praise you! Please help Baby Girl continue to grow and develop to form perfectly. Help me carry her to full term so her lungs and other organs have time to mature. Let Tim and I use the breath You have given us to express gratitude to you and to worship you. Please prepare Tim and I to be good parents and role models for our children. I pray that our baby girl would know you and know how much she is loved. Thank you, Jesus!

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people." - Ephesians 1:18

Pregnancy: Weeks 4-15

I wanted to take some time to document my first pregnancy so far so that I can look back some day and remember all of these details.

Finding out

We found out I was pregnant on Thursday, January 29, 2015! Tim and I were both not feeling very well and decided to take a sick day together to get some rest. Tim was able to work from home for a little bit and take a few naps. After waking up from my nap I decided to go buy a pregnancy test. I knew pregnancy was a possibility that month and my time of the month was already over 2 days late...I just had a feeling... So I bought a couple tests but didn't tell Tim I was going to take them. I went to the basement bathroom, did my thing and waited a few minutes. I wasn't expecting to see two pink lines so when a very faint second line appeared my jaw dropped. I remember thinking "I must be seeing things". I dropped to my knees and immediately started praying. I wanted to tell Tim in some cute way but I wasn't patient enough, I ran upstairs with the test and woke him up. I showed him the test and asked "how many lines do you see??" he said "two, why?" I said "Do you know what that means?!"... "are you pregnant?!" We were both so smiley and excited, it is such a weird feeling...kind of like holy cow...now what?! We just hugged and prayed and talked. I calculated the due date to be around October 9 (it has since been changed based on ultrasounds to Oct. 7 and then Oct. 5th).
I called and set up a doctor appointment (they want you to come in around 8 weeks, and I was only 4 weeks along..I did not want to wait that long but oh well). It is kind of fun being the only two that know about such amazing life changing news and we knew we wanted to wait awhile before telling anyone.

No denying those lines!

Weeks 4-9

The first few weeks flew by and I was getting a little bit anxious because it just didn't sink in or feel real yet. I wasn't sick at all until around week 7, so weeks 4-6 it was very surreal to think that anything was actually growing inside of me. Around week 6 I experienced some light bleeding which scared me enough to leave work and head to the doctors office. They did some tests and set me up with an early ultrasound appointment for the following week at a different clinic and sent me home saying everything seemed fine. We were so excited/nervous for the first ultrasound and we prepared our hearts for any good/bad news we might have received. It was good news though! Baby was looking good! It really eased our minds when we got to hear and see the little heart beat at only 7 weeks! The most amazing thing EVER! I looked over at Tim and he had tears in his eyes.

First time seeing our BABY!

After leaving that appointment we were so so over joyed and just couldn't stop praising God for giving us this precious miracle.
I had ordered a shirt for Scarlet off of Etsy that says "I am getting a baby cousin" and had a picture on my phone of her holding it. I sent that to my dad and brothers (I had already told my mom a few days earlier). They were so happy and excited for us. And Scarlet says she is going to be the "sister cousin".

I started to really feel sick around week 7. I was nauseous pretty much all day but only actually threw up a handful of days. I was very tired after work and started falling asleep super early. The most annoying thing for me throughout this pregnancy so far has been food aversions....it is hard for me to eat because nothing sounds, looks or smells good. For a few weeks I lived on crackers, gatorade, water, cereal and soup. I also pee A LOT...I wake up a couple times each night to pee which I never used to do. But it is all so worth it.

Scarlet doing some light reading...
Around week 9 we went to Tim's parent's house to tell them the news. I ordered this adorable onesie off of Etsy and Tim gave it to his mom when all of us were hanging out. They were very excited...it was a great day.

We chose a new clinic and absolutely love it ...we love our doctor and we feel really comfortable there which is nice. We got to have another ultrasound around 8.5 weeks and we have heard the heartbeat a few different times. At our last appointment (13 weeks) the heartbeat was in the low 140s

Hi baby!!

Weeks 10-14

I was still pretty sick and exhausted weeks 10-12. It is hard for me to be really tired and not feel well because I normally like to be active and workout but I just wasn't feeling up to it at all the first few weeks. Finally since week 13 I haven't been as nauseous anymore and I have had more energy which is nice. I even went on a run/walk last weekend which felt so good to do.
around week 10- already seeing a little bump

Please forgive the dirty mirror in some of the bump pictures...don't worry I cleaned it finally :)

Week 12

Week 13 or 14. Grow baby grow :)

I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. We get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl in ten days!!! We cannot wait. We both have a feeling that it is a boy but we will be so happy either way!

Mommy and daddy love you so much little one!

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
-Psalm 139: 13-14

Our Wedding- Part 3

The third and final wedding photo post....the reception! Our wedding reception was SO MUCH FUN! Hanging out with all your favorite people in one place is one of the coolest things ever. I will never forget that night...such a great time.

The first stop we made as a wedding party was at Hamline University :) a majority of our wedding party went to college at Hamline and Tim and I met there as well so we thought it would be fun to stop and take some photos there before the reception.
